The Croatian Music Export Office (We Move Music Croatia) has attracted much attention from the music industry and the media. Considering that there are many questions about the functioning of the music export office and how they will support musicians, they decided to make the first WMMC presentation, which will take place on Tuesday (25.10.2022.) starting at 8 p.m. in Zagreb’s club KSET.

What are their role and mission, and how will they help artists? These are just some of the questions that you will get answers to in KSET. For additional questions, there is also a Q&A session, after which you will have the opportunity to hear about experiences from tours and showcase festivals. Jordi Ilić (Tús Nua), Sara Renar, Ivan Ščapec (Seine), and Nikola Runjavec (Them Moose Rush) will talk about their own experiences. Entry to the event is free.

Two weeks ago, WMMC representatives were part of the ReConnect II showcase festival and conference in Brno, Czech Republic, where they exchanged experiences and contacts with European music professionals. Next week they will visit the seventh BUSH showcase festival in Budapest, Hungary. One of the main stars of the BUSH showcase festival is Fran Vasilić.

Performers from the ‘On the Move‘ section, ŽEN, NOKTI, Subota, and Seine, presented themselves at the Changeover Festival in Belgrade last week.

In the meantime, WMMC representatives visited the organizers of the MENT festival in Ljubljana. In addition, they held talks with colleagues from Eurosonic and SoundCzech (Czech music export office).

Office delegate Emir Fulurija will present Croatian performers and the WMMC office at Womex, the most significant world music showcase festival and conference, which is being held this year in Lisbon, Portugal. WMMC representatives talked with most of the performers in the ‘On the Move‘ section about their experiences and wishes for future funding and some Croatian music professionals who represented Croatia worldwide.

In the ‘On The Move‘ section, which includes those performers who have independently toured across Europe or participated in a showcase festival for the past four years, six more performers have been added: Egoless, Insolate, How Yes No, Nokti, Parnepar, and Subota. This list will be filled as the performers go on tours and showcase festivals with co-financing from the office.

Among the activities of the performers from the ‘On The Move‘ section, Ivan Grobenski released the album ‘Apocalipstick,’ already praised by critics, and the group Manntra announced eight concerts in Germany.
