Vanna (birth name Ivana Ranilović‑Vrdoljak) is a Croatian pop singer born on 1 September 1970 in Koprivnica. She began her musical journey in youth festivals and later moved to Zagreb in 1989 to study and pursue music.
In the early 1990s, Vanna joined the dance-pop band Electro Team (ET), where she served as lead vocalist and co-writer of many songs. Their 1993 hit “Tek je 12 sati” became iconic in the region.
In 1997 she launched her solo career with the album I to sam ja, and followed it with successful records such as Ispod istog neba (1998) and 24 sata (2000). In 2001 she represented Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2001 in Copenhagen with the song “Strings of My Heart” (English version of “Strune ljubavi”), finishing in 10th place.
Over the years, Vanna has evolved her style from dance-pop to pop-rock, R&B and ballads, maintaining relevance and artistic growth. Her 2019 album Izmiješane boje reached #1 on Croatia’s charts.
Known for her powerful vocals, catchy melodies and long-standing presence in Croatian music, Vanna remains one of the country’s most celebrated female artists.
