The Kulash. The band with an interesting name is also the first country band in Spona’s label catalog. Why The Kulash? There are two reasons; in the nineties, the word was used in the slang of American kids as a threat to the generally accepted term “cool”, and in addition, the singer and songwriter of the group is called Ivan Kulaš. Interesting coincidence. The Kulash presented itself to the music public with the album “Eyes Full of Truth” in February 2021, which contains eleven original country-pop-rock compositions with traces of blues and it’s the first country band ever to release a completely original album in English in Croatia.
The album was recorded in the “Korona” studio, Vice Dukić is responsible for the recording, mixing and mastering, the author of the music and all the lyrics is Ivan Kulaš, while Vice Dukić made the arrangements. Ivan Kulaš (vocals), Frane Gulin (solo guitar on the songs “I’m Feeling Fine”, “Place I Call Home” and “After All this Years”), Boris Plazibat (saxophone on the song “Hold On”) and Vice Dukić (drums, bass guitar, guitar, keyboards and backing vocals).
During 2022 we had a couple really well-accepted gigs as a band and as an acoustic trio, especially we must mention blues challenge 2022 in Zagreb, the ST-art festival Split, and a concert at Azimut club in Šibenik. Current members of The Kulash are: Ivan Kulaš acoustic guitar, vocal, Vice Dukić bass guitar, back vocal, Jurica Bura solo guitar, Ivan Burić drums
