Pi is the experimental pop project of Croatian artist Ivana Picek, who adopted the alias in 2017 as part of a radical artistic transformation. Moving away from her earlier singer-songwriter roots, she developed a distinctive sonic identity that merges electronic pop, avant-garde textures, and conceptual storytelling.
Her work is defined by world-building, most notably on the album E.I. (Evgenia Institut), a conceptual release set in a near-future dystopia. Through themes of artificial intelligence, transhumanism, and the creation of a “new human,” Pi constructs an imagined universe that reflects and critiques contemporary reality.
Blending playful, almost childlike sonic elements with complex philosophical ideas, her music explores identity, technology, and the evolution of consciousness. Rather than offering direct commentary, Pi approaches these themes from a neutral, observational perspective, inviting listeners to interpret the shifting boundaries between human and artificial existence.
With a highly visual and interdisciplinary approach, often collaborating with visual artists, Pi positions herself as a “world-builder” within the regional scene, creating immersive, concept-driven works that challenge conventional pop formats and expand the possibilities of experimental music.
