Paraf is a pioneering Croatian punk rock band formed in 1976 in Rijeka, widely recognized as one of the earliest and most influential punk groups in the region. They were among the first in former Yugoslavia to adopt punk’s raw, fast, and anti-establishment style.

Short, aggressive songs with sharp social commentary characterized Paraf’s early work. Their debut album A dan je tako lijep (1979) is considered a classic of early Yugoslav punk, capturing the spirit of rebellion and the DIY ethos that defined the movement.

After initial disbandment in the early 1980s, Paraf reformed in later decades with various members, revisiting their legacy and performing live shows that celebrate their formative role in Croatian and regional punk history.

Paraf’s influence extends beyond their recordings: they helped lay the foundation for the punk and alternative scenes in Croatia and neighboring countries, and their name remains synonymous with the origins of punk music in the former Yugoslavia.
