One Step Away (often abbreviated as OSA) is a Croatian punk rock band formed in 2000, known for their energetic sound, sharp lyrics, and unwavering DIY spirit.
Emerging from the underground punk scene, One Step Away released their debut album V šumi drjeva falidu in 2005 in a DIY (do-it-yourself) fashion, quickly gaining attention within the regional punk community. After a period of hiatus and lineup changes, they returned with their second album Ni grama srama in 2016, which helped cement their presence on both domestic and international punk stages.
The band’s third studio album, Zzzzzzzzzzz (released in 2022), showcases their signature blend of high-energy rhythms, melodic guitar work, and raw, honest vocals. Standout singles from the album include “Kutak ljubavi,” “Sada je (naj)bolje,” and “Stavi nas tamo ispod,” each reflecting the band’s sharp social commentary wrapped in punk rock intensity.
One Step Away is also recognized for creative music videos, including the quirky animal-featured video for “Sada je (naj)bolje,” produced while members were separated across cities during the 2020 lockdown.
Their lyrics combine biting wit and personal reflection, making One Step Away a distinctive voice in the Croatian alternative music scene.
