MAVI KAN

Mavi Kan is a Zagreb-based ethno-fusion/world music group formed in 2007 with strong Bosnian musical roots. They first released their acclaimed debut album OrnaMental in the same year, followed by the album Kao Sarajevo in 2012, blending traditional sevdah and Balkan folk with elements of jazz, smooth jazz and contemporary production.

Their music has been performed live across venues and festivals, where they present a journey through Balkan musical heritage with modern influences.

After a period of lower activity, Mavi Kan returned with singles like “Dan po dan” and continued to develop their sound toward a broader audience. They have recorded tracks such as “Sa tvojih usana” and “Ima dana”, and are working toward the release of their album Future Sound of Sevdah, which explores the intersection of tradition and contemporary groove-infused sound.

Led by vocalist Sakin Modronja, violinist Bruno Urlić and a collective of accomplished musicians, Mavi Kan bridges sevdalinka, jazz and world music, creating an evocative, culturally rooted yet modern musical expression.
