Matija Cvek is a Croatian singer and songwriter known for his emotive pop and pop-rock music. He began gaining public attention with his song “Visine” in 2018, after performing as a backing vocalist on the Croatian show A strana and at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with Jacques Houdek.
His debut album Izbirljivo i slučajno (2021) debuted at number one on the Croatian Albums Chart and earned him critical acclaim, including the Porin Award for Best Pop Album and Best Male Vocal Performance. His second album, Vile se ovdje igraju (2023), also reached number one and continued to build his reputation as a leading voice on the Croatian music scene.
Cvek has released several hit singles, including “Ptice”, “Trebaš li me” (a chart-topping duet with Eni Jurišić), and has collaborated with artists such as Jelena Rozga and Marija Šerifović. His music blends heartfelt lyrics with pop, pop-funk and groove elements, and he is known for his expressive vocal style and engaging live performances.
