JOSIPA LISAC

Josipa Lisac is a Croatian singer and one of the most distinctive voices in the regional music scene, known for her unique vocal expression, avant-garde style, and genre-blending approach. She began her career in the late 1960s and gained early recognition as the vocalist of the band O’Hara.

Her landmark debut album Dnevnik jedne ljubavi (1973), created in collaboration with composer Karlo Metikoš, is widely regarded as one of the most important albums in Croatian and former Yugoslav popular music. Throughout her career, Lisac has explored a wide range of styles, including rock, jazz, pop, and chanson, continuously redefining her artistic identity.

Following Metikoš’s death in 1991, she continued her career while preserving his musical legacy, often performing reinterpretations of his work. Known for her theatrical performances and bold visual identity, Lisac has remained a highly influential and respected artist for decades.

With a career spanning over 50 years, she is celebrated for her originality, artistic integrity, and lasting impact on the regional music landscape, maintaining a strong presence through live performances and reinterpretations of her extensive repertoire.
