GUSTAFI

Gustafi are an Istrian band formed in 1980 in Vodnjan (near Pula), blending alternative rock with traditional Istrian folk influences. From early underground beginnings and standout performances across former Yugoslavia, they quickly gained cult status, even sharing stages with acts like Laibach.

After releasing their debut album V (1985), the band evolved from experimental sounds toward a distinctive fusion of ethno, blues, and rock. In the 1990s, they returned to their roots, launching the long-running Oštarijada live series, playing over 1,500 shows.

Albums like Sentimento muto (1997) and Vraćamo se odmah (1999) earned critical acclaim, while F.F. (2006) won a Porin for Best Rock Album.

Led by Edi Maružin, Gustafi remain one of Croatia’s most unique live acts, known for their high-energy performances, ever-changing lineup, and joyful, genre-blending sound.
