ESSENCE

Formed in 1998 ESSENCE is one of the longest-lasting bands in Croatia. Their music is a mixture of all sorts of styles from progressive metal and stoner sludge to punk hardcore and jazzy math. Originality has always been a primary focus so it`s safe to say that they play music that`s hard to define but if you have to call it somehow let’s say it`s some sort of „math`n`roll“.

So far they have released 4 albums, and this last one released on 21/12/2012 goes under the name „Combustus“. Through time Essence has played numerous live shows and opened for some well-known bands. The current lineup features well-known artists Tonći “the Dude” Stanić on the drums, Ivo „Frusta“ Vatavuk on the vocals, Ranko „Smo“ Smoljan and Karmelo “Chmite” Marin on the guitars, and Vinko „Rufio“ Ravlić on the bass.
