EMPHASIS

Emphasis is a band conceived in Čakovec in 2005, which has honed its unique sound through years of work, relying on strong riffs and a dark atmosphere. The combination of metal and post-rock music is the coordinate of this project, which combines fierce elements with melodic parts and a multitude of ambient transitions. The guys bridge several musical genres and look for inspiration in greats like Caspian, Russian Circles, This Will Destroy You, Enslaved, and Isis.

In 2007, they presented themselves with the acclaimed debut album “Elements of Morrow“, which successfully united heavy metal, post-rock, and other adjacent genres. With the second album, “Gliding Over All“, the guys further defined the foundations of their distinctive, powerful sound. Their third release, “Black.Mother.Earth“, is a collection of slow and heavy songs with an emphasis on monolithic guitar riffs and rich beats. The title of the album is an English translation of the title of the novel by local writer Kristian Novak, “Black Motherland”. It is also an homage of the band members to the part of Croatia they come from.

They used the pandemic hole in the time continuum to regroup their ranks and compose their fourth album, which will see the light of day in the coming months. They recorded the material in Studio 148 in Bucharest under the production guidance of longtime associate and external band member Marius Costache.
