Dogma is an indie funk-rock band from Pula, Croatia, formed in 1995. Their music blends elements of funk, punk, electronic sounds and rock, creating an energetic style that has evolved over more than 30 years of activity.
The band quickly gained local recognition, releasing their first promotional cassette, Bijesan kao ris, in 1996 and their self-titled debut album in 1997. Early videos for “Funky Junkie” and “Ljubavna” helped establish their sound, which moves between funky grooves, punchy rhythms and electronic textures.
Dogma has released six studio albums and more than 20 music videos, featuring hit songs such as “Ljubavna”, “Fragola”, and “Parapapa” that have reached high positions on Croatian radio charts. Their song “Funky Style” was used as the official anthem of the European Boxing Championship in Pula (2004), and “Nogma” was featured on a DVD released for the FIFA World Cup in Japan (2002).
Dogma has played extensively across Croatia and the region, including gigs in Slovenia, Serbia and Montenegro, and has opened for major international acts such as Jamiroquai, Kosheen, James Brown and Fun Lovin’ Criminals. They have also performed at well-known festivals like Exit, Trn Fest, Festival Lent, Rock Otočec and Austria’s Aerodrome Rock Festival.
The band continues to be active, marking decades of work with new releases and live performances.
