ČUVARKUĆA

Osijek’s slacker-rock vocal-instrumental quartet with an organically composed synthetic sound and a flowery name (čuvarkuća means houseleek) was founded in 2021 and consists of guitar, saxophone, bass guitar, and drums. In addition to the main vocalist, most of the band also sings backing vocals.

Čuvarkuća released one studio album Curino cvijeće in 2022, which received a great reception from the audience and the press (at least from the ones that covered the news).

According to the band “the euphemistic title of the album is taken from the erotic catalog of a gray-haired Slavonian, and it tells us that in the bouquet of bright colors the old torment of the sandworm that stinks of nervous sweat is hidden”. This marginally schizophrenic series of completely valid language constructions can also serve as a vivid illustration of the music that čuvarkuća creates and performs.
