“CURA I DEČKO” (t͡sûra iː dêt͡ʃko) are an electronic duo from Croatia, coupled in real life too. Versatile performers/authors, they bring a unique expression to their local music scene, playing a live dawless show on synthesisers, loopers and sequencers. They have just been nominated for the Ambassador Award for the Best Regional Live Act.
During their performances, they skillfully blend different genres of electronic music (neo-rave, progressive house, electro) with vocals. Their stage presence invites curiosity, while their juicy sound invites the audience to dance and actively engage in the experience.
With over 300 shows, Vanesa Petrac and Ivan Marojević have been performing and creating music together for seven years. Last winter, they were chosen to be the European Parliament’s in-house artists, writing original songs & lyrics for the annual European Youth Event, as well as supporting the world-famous DJ BURAK YETER in Arena Varaždin. Their main outlet is performing at parties (100th #partyshirt party), festivals (ŠpancirFest, Blast Fest, Vox Feminae…) and protests such as Pride Ride and Night March, where they entertained 10 000 people.
Sophisticated performers, they are successful in accommodating their show to a very varied range of venues and manifestations: accompanying contemporary dancers and 3D mapping artists with Live Sound Design, and yes, their performance art piece “Jamuary24“, a live-streamed production in which the two improvise for 24 hours, without sleep.
Currently, they are working on the birth of an album, which they plan to release in the spring. Their work is driven by the idea of a positively charged community, reflected in open conversation, an atmosphere of ease, and music that inspires action. They are actively supporting their local LGBTIQA+ community.
