B’S FUNSTALLATION

B’s FUNstallation is a Zagreb-based jazz ensemble formed in spring 2012 by trumpeter Zvonimir Bajević. The group brings together six accomplished musicians from the younger-to-mid Croatian jazz generation—including saxophonist Mario Bočić, keyboardist Luka Žužić, guitarist Davor Doležal, bassist Goran Rukavina, and drummer Borko Rupena—who had already made their marks through work in major jazz orchestras and ensembles.

Their musical approach is rooted in collaborative creativity: all members contribute compositions, arrangements, and improvisation, which allows them to explore a wide spectrum of modern jazz expression without being confined by strict styles or traditions.

B’s FUNstallation’s sound weaves melodic themes, harmonic richness, and moods of reflection and groove. Their 2022 album Hold On was praised as a compelling example of contemporary mainstream jazz—balancing accessible melody with improvisational depth, and creating music that appeals both to jazz aficionados and a broader audience.

Over the years, they have become a respected presence on the Croatian jazz scene, noted for polished ensemble interplay, strong compositional voice, and live performances that emphasize both spontaneity and cohesion.
