BILLIE JOAN

Billie Joan is an acoustic-punk songstress from Croatia. Following the break up of her first band in 2010, Billie started to play and write songs on her own in 2013, playing at demo festivals for unpublished artists. In 2016 she formed a part of Judas Records, an independent label run by Milan Mijac, a musician himself, and recorded her debut album called Barren Land, comprised of 11 songs in his home studio. It was released in 2017, garnering attention mostly from critics, naming her „the female Bob Dylan“.

In the next two years, she performed solo all over the region, slowly gaining followers and publicity. Then, in true Dylan manner she went a little bit electric on her second album Selfless, which was finally released in the middle of the pandemic, 2021 but this time on a well-known Croatian label. Unfortunately, this deal also fell through, and aside from a few praising reviews but without any live performances thanks to Covid, Selfless went fairly unnoticed, currently collecting dust in the form of the now-extinct CD. But Billie won’t give up, she is still here, eager for another failure and more than ready to play Balkan and abroad, all the while working on her „third time is the charm“ album.
