BALTAZAR

Baltazar is a hard rock and alternative band from Istria, Croatia, founded in 2005 by Tonči “Hus” Horvat and Leo Anđelković. What began as a creative partnership between two musicians with a shared passion for honest, emotionally charged rock quickly evolved into one of the most authentic bands on the Croatian alternative scene. Between 2006 and 2009, they recorded a series of songs in their home studio, later released on their debut album Nemirno dijete (OSA Media, 2012). The album received excellent reviews across the region for its powerful sound and introspective lyrics.

Following its release, Baltazar performed extensively throughout Croatia and neighboring countries, sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in regional rock such as Majke, Van Gogh, Partibrejkers, Zabranjeno Pušenje, Atomsko Sklonište, Opća Opasnost, Psihomodo Pop, and Krug (EKV). Their intense live shows and raw energy earned them a loyal following.

After a few quieter years in the studio, Baltazar made a strong comeback in 2020 with their second album, Pogled broj 13. Recorded in an old Istrian stone house, the album captures the band’s mature sound—combining emotional depth with heavier, more dynamic arrangements.

Now in 2025, Baltazar continues to perform actively and work on new material, remaining true to their roots while exploring new sonic directions. With their mix of heartfelt lyrics, melodic power, and rock authenticity, they’ve secured their place as one of Croatia’s most enduring and respected alternative rock acts.
