BALKAN ZOO & NINA ĆORIĆ

Balkan Zoo is a band of bassist and composer Mario Rašić, who has been promoting the music of Balkan in new, modern arrangements for over 10 years. This multi-award-winning musician, on his new album “Recycle” brings traditional Roma songs transformed into a progressive world music expression thanks to top musicians, arrangements, and vocal soloist, flamenco singer Nina Ćorić. With this project, the artists want to point out prejudices, but also the richness of the cultural heritage of the Roma, and through music contribute to positive changes in society. Through their interpretation of Roma music, their goal is to build some new bridges of understanding, friendship, and coexistence. The concert promotion of the album was held in Zagreb, at Tvornica Kulture as part of the spring cycle of JazzHR, in May 2022.
