APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR THE THIRD EDITION OF THE SHIP FESTIVAL; BABY LASAGNA AND NEMEČEK TO PERFORM AT EUROSONIC THIS WEEK

The third edition of SHIP Music festival will take place from September 11 to 14, 2025. Starting today, bands are invited to apply for a chance to perform. Last year, the organizers received 1,037 applications, and this year they are hoping for even more. Applications will be open from January 13th to March 13th, 2025. Interested musicians can apply via the website.

The focus of this year’s festival will once again be on networking, education, and the exchange of experiences, alongside a great concert program featuring diverse musical genres – from indie rock and electronic music to traditional sounds in modern arrangements. In addition to performances by bands and artists from Croatia and the region, many international guests are also expected, further enhancing the festival’s global appeal.

Selected performers will have a unique opportunity to perform at an international festival and establish valuable connections that could benefit their future careers. The location remains as stunning as ever – the beautiful city of Šibenik.

In addition to launching applications for the third SHIP Festival, the Croatian Music Export Office continues to promote Croatian music to European audiences. The Croatian delegation is heading to Groningen, Netherlands, to participate in the prestigious Eurosonic Festival from January 15th to 18th.

This year, Baby Lasagna and Nemeček will perform at Eurosonic. Baby Lasagna, as well as the band Nemeček, need little introduction.
Last year’s Croatian representative at Eurovision achieved the country’s best-ever placement since first joining the competition, finishing second in a close race with Switzerland’s Nemo. This success was followed by a European tour, numerous award nominations, and widespread praise from both audiences and critics. Remarkably, his debut studio album has yet to be released.

Nemeček impressed everyone with the last year’s album Prokletije II. The band, comprising Vedran Živković, Leo Beslać, and Borna Maksan, has performed extensively across Croatia and is now embarking on a European tour, with Groningen as their first stop. The band received five nominations for the Rock&Off Awards, and many predict a very bright future for them.

One of the festival speakers is Mirko Burazer, COO of the SHIP Festival and International Project Manager at We Move Music Croatia.
