Vesna Pisarović is a Croatian singer, songwriter, and composer known for her versatile career spanning pop and jazz. Born in Brčko, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and raised in Požega, she began singing at an early age and studied musicology in Zagreb. She gained nationwide fame in the early 2000s with a string of pop hits such as Da znaš, Jutro donosi kraj, and Sasvim sigurna, becoming one of Croatia’s most popular pop performers of the decade.
In 2002, Vesna represented Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Everything I Want, expanding her recognition beyond regional borders. After several successful pop albums, she took a creative turn and moved to Berlin, where she delved into experimental jazz and avant-garde music under the name Vesna Pisarović – Petit Piaf.
Her later projects reinterpret Yugoslav pop standards through a jazz lens, showcasing her deep musicianship and artistic reinvention. Today, Vesna Pisarović divides her time between Croatia and Germany, performing internationally and remaining one of the most dynamic and respected Croatian artists of her generation.
