Klaustro/fonija is a power trio from Croatia that plays a blend of noise rock, psychedelia, post-punk, and post-whatnot. Honing their craft in a bomb shelter, their sound is defined by neurotic melodic vocals, driving bass lines, deep-fried guitar, sensual drumming, humidity, and tinnitus. From delay-addled howls to falsetto hooks, the mouth of Klaustro/fonija slaloms in and out of speaking in tongues, primal falsetto, and cheesy poetry. This year, the band teamed up with the Macedonian label Mrtov Konj, releasing their first album, Rigged Phantasies, under its wing.
