Ministranti are a rock band from Rijeka, Croatia, formed in 2022 by guitarist Dražen Baljak (of Let 3) along with Robert Šuša (vocals), Vedran Vučković (bass) and Voljen Korić (drums).
They emerged during the lockdown period with their ironic first single “Rock je mrtav”, recorded in a garage and released through independent labels Mudri Brk and Izvanredni diskograf. The song also became the title track of their debut album Rock je mrtav (2022).
Their music is characterised by a guitar-driven rock sound with heavy grooves and production that avoids over-polishing, combining classic rock elements with energetic arrangements. The band’s live potential and strong songs like “Probudi se”, “Kako da…” and “Zanemariva blamaža” quickly made them noticed on the local scene.
Rock je mrtav was widely praised by critics, with several outlets naming it one of the best rock albums of the year, highlighting solid songwriting, organic sound and confident execution.
