MERITAS

Meritas is a Croatian duo formed in 1996 in Zagreb, created by vocalists and songwriters Meri Jaman and Anita Valo – the band’s name itself is a blend of their first names.

From their debut album Skači, pleši, viči! in 1997 with its upbeat power-pop energy, to numerous studio and live albums over the decades, Meritas have become one of Croatia’s most enduring and beloved musical acts.

Known for their melodic sound that combines elements of pop and emotional songwriting, the group has produced many well-known tracks, such as “Odjednom ti,” which won a Porin Award for best vocal collaboration with Massimo Savić.

Over nearly three decades, Meritas have released several acclaimed albums, created music for film and theater, celebrated milestones with special live recordings and best-of compilations, and maintained a strong presence on Croatian radio and stages.

Their work is marked by thoughtful lyrics, warm harmonies, and an artistic depth that resonates with multiple generations of fans throughout the region.
